In its 35 year history, PACS has
offered support, aid and hope for residents in our community who need
information and direction as well as emergency aid.
While many long term residents know
PACS and its tradition of service, we often find that others have never heard
of PACS and are not familiar with who we can help and what we do.
To help us promote our work, and
reach more who need our help, we sought help with a logo design. PACS needed an “image” that would be
recognizable and distinctive.
Lisa McGettigan, a Graphic
Specialist in the Communications Department at Vanguard, created this
logo. Lisa’s skill and creativity gave
an “image” to our name, establishing a link to the acronym many in the
community have come to know us by – “PACS.”
We are very grateful to Lisa and
Vanguard for this wonderful donation!
Mission
Connect people in the Phoenixville area with community
resources and
emergency assistance.
What We Do
- Connect people to the appropriate resources to meet
their
needs
- Provide emergency food, housing, utilities, and health
services
- Assist people to achieve economic self-sufficiency
- Link community asset with community needs
Did You Know?
- Most people
served by PACS are the "working poor". They
work but their incomes aren't sufficient to provide all the basic needs
like food, housing, and utilities.
- PACS gives out 3/4 ton each week.
- An average 150 households receive food assistance each
month.
- Most people receive food only occasionally; when they are
in extreme need.
- PACS provided $90,747 in food last year. 84% of
that was donated by the community.
- In the previous fiscal year, PACS provided $35,472 for
emergency heat, housing, medicine, electricity.
- PACS connected more than 5,000 people with other aid
organizations last year.
- Without
PACS, local governments would need to provide services at taxpayer
expense. Organizations like PACS are more
efficient and economical.
